Amit Shah Blasts Congress Over Appeasement

He's taken on Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah over a number of issues ranging from appeasement to corruption

BJP party president Amit Shah launched a blistering attack at the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government on Tuesday just a short while after the Election Commission announced that the state would go to polls on May 12 and counting would take place on May 15.

Speaking at Karnataka's Davanagere, Amit Shah said the following:

On appeasement politics:

Appeasement politics isn't favourable for the state as well as for the country.

Why was the Lingayat issue only raised before elections? They want to divide Hindus. Why didn't Congress approve the decision in 2013?

On one hand Congress president Rahul Gandhi gives speeches that 'we are all together'. On the other hand, his own CM Siddaramaiah divides people along religion. Such major internal conflict is not there in any other country.

On law and order:

Women aren't safe under this present Congress government in Karnataka. PFI and SDPI are only working in this state under this government.

On Siddaramaiah:

According to reports, Siddaramaiah is one of the most corrupt politicians in this country.

On alliances:

We don't have any relation with JD(S). We will contest election alone. We don't want any support from JD(S).

On farmer suicides:

There has been BJP govt in Gujarat, MP & Chhattisgarh for the last 15 yrs and farmer suicide numbers in these states have been very low. The suicide cases that have been registered were due to depression & farmers' personal issues
