WB Panchayat polls: Violence in several places, 12% voting in first 2 hours

Voting is being held in West Bengal for elections to the state’s three-tier panchayat system. The state election commission has received complaints of violence from at least four districts. Allegations of ballot boxes being tampered with have also emerged from certain areas. The overall voting in the first two hours of polling was recorded to be 12.2 per cent.
